In the summer
of 1995, with the position of American Angler well
established, Abenaki relaunched Fly Tyer as a quarterly
in its original fly-tying-only format, with a goal to eventually
achieve a circulation of 30,000.
Readers immediately recognized that Fly Tyer offered
more accurate, easy-to-follow, step-by-step tying instructions
than any other publication in the marketplace. They also found
well-written articles about history and fly-tying tools, materials
and new patterns. As a result, circulation has rapidly risen
to more than 44,000.
Fly Tyer is now the fourth largest fly-fishing magazine
in North America. It appeals not only to novice fly tyers,
but to the most experienced as well.
