Salina Media Group is located in Salina, Kan., a community of approximately 50,000 people in central Kansas. The area is known for its Smoky Hills. As settlers came to the area they made note of the haze that constantly covered the surrounding hills, giving it a look of smoke.
Salina Media Group is composed of six radio stations: KSAL-AM, KABI-AM, KYEZ-FM, KZBZ-FM, KSAJ-FM, and KBLS-FM. Formats of the radio stations include News/Talk, Nostalgia, Country, Top 40, Oldies, and Adult Contemporary. The stations are very active in serving their communities by taking part in many local and regional events throughout the year. KSAL has been an active part of the Salina community for 68 years. Also included in the group is KSALLINK.com an interactive information Web site.
The group is managed out of the Salina offices with programming and sales offices in three surrounding communities, including Salina, Abilene, and Manhattan. Morris Communications acquired Salina Media Group in February of 2004 as part of its Kansas division of radio properties.
