BOOK PUBLISHING COMPANY ACQUIRES NEW YORK PUBLISHER
AUGUSTA,
Ga. - The Morris-owned Globe Pequot Press, Guilford, Conn.,
purchased New York-based Lyons Press Inc. in an agreement that
closed Jan. 17.
The Lyons publishing house, which
originated in 1984 as Nick Lyons Books, specializes in outdoor
sports.
"The Lyons Press brings an exciting
and complementary list of titles to Globe," said Linda Kennedy,
president and publisher of Globe Pequot. "They will greatly
expand our coverage of the outdoor market and cement our position
as a top producer in this category."
The Globe Pequot Press is a publisher
and distributor of travel and outdoor recreation books that
provide comprehensive, travel-related information for locations
throughout the world. The publishing house is a wholly owned
