MEDIA CONSORTIUM ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF FLORIDA TOP JOBS

NEW YORK—(BUSINESS WIRE)—The New York Times Regional Newspaper Group, E.W. Scripps Co., Media General, Morris Communications Company LLC, and The Daytona Beach News-Journal today announced the launch of Florida Top Jobs, a regional online database combining premium job listings from 14 Florida newspapers representing 877,000 daily subscribers and 1.1 million Sunday subscribers.

"We are pleased to join this influential consortium of newspapers in launching the unique and powerful Florida Top Jobs," said Bruce Kyse, vice president, news/new media, The New York Times Regional Newspaper Group. "Employers rely on newspapers—in print and online—to target market their jobs, and Top Jobs now gives Florida's employers the opportunity to gain an ever greater return on their efforts by expanding their reach across the state. Florida Top Jobs puts jobs in front of one of Florida's largest bases of both active and passive job seekers."

Florida Top Jobs allows employers to post their job listings across a network of Florida newspaper Web sites. By choosing the Top Jobs option with a participating newspaper, an employer's job will be listed on all network newspapers' Web sites and have the potential to generate more unique visitors. Florida Top Jobs listings database is estimated to have the potential to generate 2.5 million unique visits per month. These impressions will represent both active jobseekers and passive jobseekers who visit the members' Web sites. The Florida Top Jobs database is designed to complement members' print and online recruitment services. The database can only be accessed through a participating member's Web site.

After an initial launch period of six months, participation will be open to all Florida daily newspapers that agree to the terms and conditions of the consortium.

"Our combined job listings database, our respective staffs of experienced recruitment advertising professionals and the trusted strength of our newspapers' brands in their markets will offer advertisers and job seekers alike a comprehensive recruitment solution," said Robert Benz, general manager of interactive media for Scripps newspapers. "The combined promotional power of this initiative demonstrates our commitment to leveraging our online and print capabilities, as well as our regional presence, to the benefit of our readers and advertisers."
